KD...... Korean Dramas (and movies included).
The Korean Wave started more than 10 years ago but I was not swept by the strong current.
Even at my previous working place, I have some colleagues who are ardent KD fans but that did not manage to get me on board the bandwagon.
Not until I joined this current company that I started my love for KD and boy did I fell deeeeply in love with them. I joined June 2012 and I fell in love in Aug 2012 to date.
It all started when J1 lent C 4 sets of dramas to watch. There were 3 Js who are ardent fans of KD. C is not so into KD and after months of borrowing and not watching, returned the 4 sets to J1. J1 offered if I was interested to watch and my answer was NO. Weekend was approaching and I thought to myself I don't mind borrowing just 1 title. She let me choose of the 4 titles. I couldn't make up which was good. So I enlisted Triple Js for help. J2 suggested I watched The Greatest Love (TGL).
Oh boy, she was spot on! Title was good, story line / plot was great and the 2 leads were marvelous!! I still get goosebumps watching it.
One thing about KD is that it appeals differently to different people. Whilst I might find TGL great some might not. For example J3 did not find it so fascinating as I did. And as I watched countless other KD I realized that to be true. Some of which my friends thought were incredible, to me just mediocre. Plots, actors, actresses... all these appeal differently to different people. That is what makes it more interesting..... :-))
